Welcome to The Society for Calligraphy & Handwriting (SCH). SCH is located in the Greater Seattle, Washington metropolitan area, meeting mainly on the Eastside of Lake Washington in Bellevue.
SCH holds meetings and workshops throughout the year, focusing on calligraphy and related art forms. The meetings and workshops provide an enthusiastic exchange in the form of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on instruction or slide presentations.

The Society for Calligraphy & Handwriting’s (SCH) kick-off meeting for the 2015 – 2016 year is Thursday, September 17th, at 7pm. It will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue in the Upper Campus in room 105. Please view our meetings page for the address and directions.
This month’s meeting will be an introduction to calligraphy with a review of the Foundational script taught by Sue Gruhn. Many examples will be in the packet that attendees will receive but the lesson will be based on a 10th century version.
Please bring a ruler, pencil, 3mm or larger broad edge marker and paper that you like to letter on. Sue will have some markers and paper for everyone. The supply fee is $3.00.
