The Society for Calligraphy & Handwriting’s (SCH) presents Decorated Letters, a two day workshop with Holly Monroe. The workshop will be held on March 6th and 7th from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM Pacific on Zoom.
Beautiful decorated letters have been the cornerstone of a calligraphers’ repertoire throughout the years. Come and enhance your skills as we design our way through a series of exercises that will guide you through decorating on, in and around the letters. You will create innovative designs, unique letter “boxes”, flourishes, vines, etc. while working with gouache, gold and handmade paper. Packet of colorful handouts.
Holly V. Monroe is a third-generation calligrapher with a deep appreciation for beautiful lettering and fine art. Tutored from childhood, by her mother in art and her father in calligraphy, she has since studied under some of the world’s finest calligraphy instructors. After graduating from Miami of Ohio, Holly opened her own studio in Cincinnati under the family name, Heirloom Artists.
