The Society for Calligraphy & Handwriting and Write On Calligraphers are sponsoring a one day workshop, Architectural Lettering with Cora Pearl. The workshop will be held on June 19th from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM Pacific on Zoom.

In this workshop Cora will present several different styles of handwritten architectural lettering using a felt tip marker and Speedball B-nibs to learn ball and stick lettering and the monoline lettering style of Frank Lloyd Wright. This style of lettering comes directly from the architect’s own blueprints. The styles we will learn are very legible and can be useful for working with a variety of different art media.

Cora Pearl started studying calligraphy at age 11 and has been doing calligraphy and hand lettering ever since. She has a BA in Art and Art History from Oberlin College. Cora works as a full-time calligrapher and teacher of lettering arts—she teaches full credit calligraphy and hand lettering courses at Portland Community College in Portland, Oregon, and teaches independent workshops, classes and private sessions, including year-long courses in Design for Lettering Art.
